The 24th Pontardawe Festival was held this weekend in the Swansea Valley. Hopes were high that the 2002 festival would live up to the standards of previous years.

For me, one of the highlights of the festival is the open market featuring a craft market and an authentic French market from Normandy. I spent a pleasant two hours exploring the colourful street market with my camera on the Saturday morning. My photographs illustrate various visual aspects of the market; but hopefully you will be able to imagine for yourselves the smells and sounds of the market.
