Floods in the Swansea Valley
Glamorgan

(Photography by John Ball - 2nd January 1998)

Recent heavy rains have caused the river Tawe to overflow its banks at Ynysforgan and Ynystawe. The photographs below were taken this afternoon from a lay-by on the A4067 valley road, just north of its junction with the M4 motorway.

Above and below: Large areas of grazing land covered by up to 18 inches of
floodwater from the river Tawe.
