Old Breconshire Farms in the Usk Valley and near Dolygaer
Photography by John Ball - 1 May 1998 (with Agfa ePhoto307 digital camera)
Scenes taken earlier this month in the Usk Valley, and near the Pontsticill Reservoir, Breconshire.

Above: View from Dan-y-Wern Farm looking westwards along the
valley of the River Usk towards the Brecon Beacon mountains.
Above: A derelict farm building shaded by trees on the banks of Pontsticill Reservoir
at Dolygaer. The village of Dolygaer was lost for ever with the flooding of the valley
in the 19th century. The narrow gauge steam-powered Brecon Mountain Railway
now runs along the banks of the reservoir.
