Note 2: [Built] 1839-40 by J. J. Scoles. A confident and conspicuous statement just a decade after the Emancipation. The broad five-stage, E.E. tower occupies most of the streetfrontage. The intended spire was not built, so in 1869 the top parapet and pinnacles were added.
