Four Days in Paris
A photographic record of my visit to Paris in September 2000
Photography by John Ball except where otherwise indicated.
Day 4 (continued)
With the jazz performance now over and the sun low in the west, I walked slowly along the Quai Anatole France, watching the activity on the Seine.

| Looking down-river towards the Pont Solferino (above), and the Ferris wheel near the Tuileries Gardens, while (below) a riverboat speeds past. |
 |
| Nearby is a boarding point for the more leisurely Batobus river transport.

Above: A Batobus approaches from under the Pont Royale, with the Louvre beyond. Below: The Grand Palais is visible on the western skyline in this view downstream from the Pont Royale. |
 |
| Right: Strolling along the right bank of the Seine in the hazy evening sunshine. |
 |
| After crossing to the right bank of the Seine via the Pont Royale, the sounds of another jazz group drifted over the waters from the Pont des Arts (below). |

| The band had assembled in the centre of the bridge, with the broad façade of the Institut de France beyond. |
The sun was now setting and I would soon have to head back to my hotel. Click here to join me on my last evening in Paris.
